SM64 ROM Hacks League 2024

The ongoing league features 3 hacks and a variety of different categories. The League starts immediately after the draft held on the indicated starting date.

Below you can find the most commonly asked questions:

  1. WHAT IS A LEAGUE?
    League is a community open event to any speedrunners out there. Participants are drafted onto teams and they can earn points for their team by getting PBs in the selected categories and submitting them to speedrun.com!
  2. HOW ARE TEAMS DETERMINED?
    The team is determined by a draft. Players can opt-in to be a captain for a team, these captains take turns on the drafting stream choosing individual participants until everyone is assigned to a team.
  3. HOW DO I EARN POINTS?
    As of the time of writing this (06th September 2024), the points system has not been decided yet and information regarding that will follow when available.
  4. DO I NEED TO HAVE MY PBS ON SPEEDRUN.COM?
    To keep track of points PBs will have to be submitted by someone to speedrun.com. A mod can always submit for you if you prefer not to have a speedrun.com account.

    Please note that 333 Star of Decades Later is not part of the eligible categories, you may still run it if you wish so!
  6. CAN I STILL JOIN THE LEAGUE?
    No, the submissions for the league are closed now! Check back next year :)

League 2024 Points Calculator

How it works:

Your points are being determined by two factors:

  • Rankpoints (based off Leaderboard position)
  • Timepoints (based off your time you got)

Rankpoints:

Rankpoints are determined by your Leaderboard position. Points are being calculated as the following:

  • The last place will receive 1 point.
  • For each better placement, you will receive an additional point.
  • If you are between place 6 and 10, you will receive 2 points for each better placement, starting from rank 10.
  • If you are between place 1 and 5, you will receive 3 points for each better placement, starting from rank 5

There will be a bonus points attached to your rankpoints, those are determined by the nature length of a category. You get these once for a category if you finished a run

Timepoints

Timepoints are determined by your Time you got. Points are calculated the following way:

  • Each category holds a cutoff. You start to receive points once you broke the cutoff.
  • Each category holds a threshold (in seconds) to break, starting from the cutoff. For every time you break this threshold, you receive 1 point.
  • There are no bonus time points to be gotten
